Diminished Capacity (2008) (C)
"Alda is both fierce and quietly heartbreaking."
Leah Greenblatt, Entertainment Weekly.
In this delightfully poignant and bittersweet comedy, a newspaper editor, Cooper (Matthew Broderick, The Producers), held back at work after a debilitating concussion, travels home to rural Missouri to visit his senile Uncle (Alan Alda, Flash of Genius) who is on the verge of losing his home.
When a valuable baseball card is thrown into the mix, these two men along with a motley group of hometown friends, including Cooper's high school sweetheart (Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen, Sideways), head to a memorabilia expo and embark on a journey to make the deal of a century.
